MLTA’s very own Mark Lynch, Esq. is running for Register of Wills in Calvert County, Maryland. We congratulate Mark on his campaign and encourage all MLTA members to remain involved in shaping our industry.
The Office of the Register of Wills is a public office established under the Constitution of Maryland. The Register is elected by the citizens of Calvert County and handles administrative duties dealing with estates and heirs. The office appoints representatives to make sure that a deceased person’s property passes to others; assists in legal paperwork dealing with wills and probate; collects millions in inheritance taxes and fees; keeps records of wills and probate documents for both the living and deceased; and performs clerking duties for the Judges of the Orphans’ Court.
